In particular, digital technology is playing an increasingly important role in this process by supporting renewable and clean electricity generation, while also optimizing energy supply and demand models. This will accelerate our transition to green energy sources.

Ultimately, digital technology is one of our key tools in the fight against climate change and driving more sustainable development as a global community.

As a technology infrastructure provider, Huawei wants to be a major player in the energy transition, especially in the solar industry. Huawei now provides solutions for all possible scenarios (Utility, C&I, Residential).

This challenge is open for all startups that push toward decarbonation and sustainability, with a particular interest for startups in the solar industry. The innovation should help the industry to decrease the global LCOE of power systems.

AR/VR Challenge:
New AR/VR Tech for Deeper Human/Digital Interaction

Context:
VR and AR, with rich immersive 3D or seemless blending of real and simulated content, are being developed to enhance our access and interaction to digital content and information. Challenges remain to provide, on one hand, technical solutions meeting human vision requirements and wearability constraints ; and on the other hand, advanced natural interaction with the digital world.

Expected Solutions:
Innovative hardware and / or software technologies to:
- provide compact VR display
- provide efficient and small form-factor light engine and optical solution for AR
- deepen the human/digital world interactions through natural and accurate controls and feedback (human to object, human to human, handling, feedback, ...)

Innovative solutions to:
- Display high quality digital content in a small form factor, meeting human vision requirements (FoV, eyebox, brightness, resolution, depth)
- Propose human and digital world interactions for pervasive and natural experience

Context:
Healthcare is one of the major challenges of our century. Digital technology can transform the future of health by enabling true predictive, personalized, preventive and participatory healthcare.

Digital Therapeutics describes standalone software applications or applications leveraging data from external devices, to improve health functions. Digital Therapeutics is a fast growing area of digital health, enabling a wider audience to develop and benefit applications to prevent, detect, manage or treat diseases using digital supports.

Expected Solutions:
- Standalone applications, or applications leveraging data from sensors, to improve health functions
- Standalone applications, or applications leveraging data from sensors, to detect a disease or for large-scale health screening

Context:
5G's features of high reliability, low latency, and large bandwidth capabilities, are designed to enable industrial applications. As 5G is increasingly used in industry, the convergence of communications networks and location networks brings new solutions to improve cost and energy efficiency in industries such as automotive manufacturing, logistics and transportation. In order to realize the promise of industrial 5G, there will be an urgent demand for low-cost 5G industrial modules.

How to provide a large number of 5G modules that meet industrial connectivity requirements and have positioning capabilities? How to reduce costs without reducing 5G capabilities?
