AfricaTech Awards

Since its creation in 2017, the AfricaTech program has been a key pillar of Viva Technology. It has hosted more than 1,000 African startups, eight countries showcased their innovation ecosystems, and three Presidents have taken part in the event: Macky Sall (Senegal), Paul Kagame (Rwanda), and Felix Tshisekedi (DRC). Last but not least, strategic partnerships have been established with key international organizations in Africa, including AfricArena, International Trade Center, and Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie. 

In 2022, VivaTech has the ambition to focus on the African continent, highlighting emerging opportunities and key trends through a dedicated track of conferences featuring the most inspiring thought leaders and experts. During the VivaTech event, the most impactful African startups will present their innovative solutions at the AfricaTech Lab and during the AfricaTech Awards Ceremony.
